Terms of Service
This is the agreement between you and us. We have tried to write it like a person rather than a contract generator, but it is still a contract — you accept it by ticking the box when you create your account, and again if we ask you to accept an updated version. If you do not agree with something here, please do not tick the box, and tell us why.
1. Who this agreement is with
Career Love Builder (“the service”) is operated by Career Love, operated by Brick30 Technologies LLC(“we”, “us”). “You” is the individual who holds the account. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the whole agreement between us about the service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the service (18 where your local law requires it to enter a binding contract), and you must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. What the service does
In plain English: It is a coaching and job-search tool powered by AI. It helps you think, write, find roles and prepare — it does not apply for jobs on your behalf and it does not get you hired.
Career Love Builder provides:
- conversational career coaching with Avery, an AI persona, and a structured career profile built from those conversations;
- résumé upload, analysis, scoring against job descriptions, and tailoring suggestions;
- opportunity sourcing from public job boards and search, with AI-generated match scores and reasoning;
- research on target companies and relevant contacts, drawn from public and professional sources;
- drafted outreach — emails, LinkedIn messages and call scripts — which you review, edit, approve and send yourself;
- application tracking, interview preparation, offer evaluation and negotiation support;
- goals, reminders and progress summaries.
The service is provided on an ongoing basis and we may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you rely on, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
3. Your account and your responsibilities
- Accurate details. Register with a real email address you control, and keep your account information current.
- Keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for everything done under your account. Choose a strong, unique password. We store only a hash of it and cannot recover it for you.
- One account, one person. Accounts are personal. Do not share, sell or transfer your account, and do not let someone else use it.
- Tell us about trouble. If you suspect unauthorised access, email [email protected] straight away.
- Your uploads.Only upload documents you have the right to upload. Do not upload another person’s résumé, confidential material belonging to your employer, or anything covered by an obligation you would be breaking by sharing it with us.
4. Acceptable use
In plain English: Use it for your own job search, honestly, and treat the people you contact like people. That covers almost all of it.
You agree not to:
- Abuse the sourcing and research features.Do not use the service to build or extract bulk contact lists, to harvest data for resale or for a separate product, to circumvent rate limits, or to run automated or scripted access against our APIs. The sourcing tools exist to support one person’s job search — using them as a scraping engine is a breach of these Terms, and we will suspend accounts that do it.
- Send outreach you would not stand behind. You are responsible for every message you approve and send. Drafts are suggestions; the moment you send one, it is your message, in your name. You must comply with the anti-spam and marketing law that applies to you — including CAN-SPAM in the US, PECR and UK GDPR in the UK, and the ePrivacy rules in the EEA — including honouring opt-outs and not misrepresenting who you are.
- Harass anyone. No repeated unwanted contact, no threats, no impersonation of another person or organisation. Respect do-not-contact requests immediately; the product gives you a list for exactly this.
- Misrepresent yourself. Do not use the service to fabricate qualifications, employment history, credentials or references. AI can generate confident-sounding claims; putting a false one in front of an employer is fraud, and it is on you.
- Attack or probe the service.No attempts to breach security, access other users’ data, reverse-engineer the service, extract prompts or model configuration, or overload the infrastructure.
- Break the law or infringe rights — including intellectual property, privacy and confidentiality obligations — or upload malware, or anything unlawful, defamatory or hateful.
- Resell the service or use its outputs to train a competing model or build a competing product.
5. AI output — read this one
In plain English: The AI is a very good first draft and a fallible second opinion. It is not a recruiter, a lawyer, or a guarantee. Check everything before it leaves your hands.
- No guarantee of employment. We do not promise that using the service will get you interviews, offers, a salary increase, or a job at all. Outcomes depend on the market, the employer and you. Nothing in the product is a prediction of your hiring outcome.
- AI can be wrong. Language models produce plausible text, not verified fact. They can invent company details, misstate a job requirement, get a salary benchmark wrong, or misattribute an accomplishment. Match scores are heuristics, not measurements.
- You must review before sending. Every draft the service produces is a draft. The product deliberately requires your approval and hands you a link that opens your own email client or LinkedIn — the service does not send outreach to third parties for you. Once you send it, it is your statement, and you are responsible for its accuracy.
- Not professional advice. The service is not legal, financial, tax, immigration, medical or employment-law advice. Offer evaluation and negotiation features are informational. For a decision that matters, talk to a qualified professional.
- Third-party job data. Listings and company information come from public sources that we do not control and cannot verify. Postings may be stale, duplicated, mis-categorised or fake. Verify before you act.
- Availability of AI features. AI features depend on model providers and our own infrastructure. Quality and availability vary, and a feature may be degraded or temporarily unavailable.
6. Who owns what
Your content is yours
You keep all rights in the content you provide: your résumés, profile information, conversations, notes, and the messages you write or approve. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display and process your content solely to operate and improve the service for you — for example to store your résumé, put its text into a model prompt so the model can analyse it, and show you the result. The licence exists so we can run the product; it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups for the limited period described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train our own models, and we do not license it to anyone for their marketing.
AI outputs
As between you and us, you own the outputs generated for you — drafts, analyses, summaries. Note two honest caveats: AI outputs may not be copyrightable in some jurisdictions, and similar prompts can produce similar outputs for other users, so we cannot promise your output is unique.
Our content
The service itself — software, design, the Avery persona, our prompts, methodology, trademarks and branding — belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service, and nothing more.
Feedback
If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely, without obligation or compensation to you. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential as feedback.
7. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. It explains — in specifics, including which AI providers can receive your content — what we do and do not do. Please read it; it is the more important of the two documents.
8. Third-party services
The service integrates with third parties — AI model providers, search and sourcing services, public job boards, and LinkedIn if you choose to connect it. Your use of a third-party service through ours is also subject to that provider’s own terms. We do not control those services, are not responsible for them, and may change or remove an integration.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, upstream provider outages, and failures happen. We may suspend access temporarily for maintenance or security, and will try to give notice where the situation allows.
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect, and we will ask you to accept the updated Terms explicitly: the next time you sign in, a notice covers the app with the new documents linked, and the rest of the interface stays behind it until you tick the box yourself. The box is never pre-ticked, and we do not record acceptance from silence.
To be clear about what that notice does and does not do: it blocks the app interface, not your account. The scheduled background work you already asked us to perform — searching, scoring, contact lookup and drafting outreach for your approval — continues on its normal schedule while the notice is up, because it runs to perform our existing agreement with you rather than on the strength of the new documents. Nothing is sent on your behalf without your approval. While the notice is up you can still sign out, read this page and the Privacy Policy signed out, and contact us. If you would rather not accept, sign out and ask us to close your account — your data stays untouched in the meantime, and closing the account is what stops the background work.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, that results or AI outputs will be accurate or reliable, or that defects will be corrected.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or any employment opportunity, offer, or role you did not obtain, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service and these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any liability that applicable consumer law does not permit us to exclude.
12. Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, content you upload, or messages you approve and send to third parties. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach or negligence, and nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.
13. Termination
By you
You can stop at any time. Delete your account from Settings → Privacy & your data, or email [email protected]. Export your data first if you want a copy — the export tool is on the same screen.
By us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms — in particular the acceptable-use rules in section 4 — if we are required to by law, or if your use creates a risk to other users or to the service. Except where a breach is serious or urgent, or where notice would be unlawful or unsafe, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. You may appeal any termination by emailing the address above.
What happens then
Your access ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 6 (ownership), 10 (disclaimers), 11 (liability), 12 (indemnity) and 14 (governing law) survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the service will be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Minnesota will have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
Before litigating, please talk to us. Email [email protected] with a description of the problem and what you want. Most things are fixable in an email thread.
15. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms plus the Privacy and Cookie Policies are the whole agreement about the service, and replace any earlier understanding.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed, or severed, and the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a right immediately does not waive it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger or sale of the business.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms create rights only between you and us.
